Recent domestic deployments of the National Guard raise serious concerns for our democracy. What do these actions mean, and what should Jewish communities understand about the risks, norms, and precedents at stake? Healing Our Communities through Constructive Disagreement: Building Bridges Across Differences
In our current national and international moment, our communities feel like they are dividing along many constantly-shifting faultlines. As Jewish organizations, we can and must bring our communities together to engage with the many challenges we face every day – even when we vehemently disagree.
This interactive webinar, hosted in partnership with Pardes, draws on ancient Jewish wisdom and the latest social science to help Jewish professionals facilitate constructive dialogue across differences within our communities. After the webinar, we will offer an optional 5-week cohort beginning in October (fully paid for by us!), including paying each participant a $100 stipend to host a community conversation using your newfound facilitation skills.

As the High Holy Days approach, our Jewish communities are wrestling with questions about our nation and our democracy, and what it all means for American Jews today and in the future.
We invite Jewish clergy to join "Drashing Democracy 2025: Reflecting On America During the High Holy Days" on Wednesday, August 6 at 1PM ET to hear from leading rabbis and explore potential themes for High Holy Day sermons.

Exploring the Misinformation Landscape
Dan Evon of the News Literacy Project joins us for the second of four discussions about media literacy as we work together to ensure free, fair, safe, and accessible elections in 2024.
Together, we will discuss how to identify types of misleading, inaccurate and false information, how to recognize common propagators of falsehoods and how to evaluate motivations for sharing misinformation. We will also demonstrate essential fact-checking skills.

Demographic shifts and COVID-responsive policy changes require a whole new wave of volunteers to step up. Intro to Bridge-Building and Countering Toxic Polarization
In honor of Yom Rabin, we are offering this session for Jewish institutions eager or interested in available programs, partners, and pathways to counter toxic polarization in their communities (both Jewish and local). Our goal is make as many connections as we can between Jewish groups and bridge-building organizations, and will be joined by representatives from One America Movement, Resetting the Table, the Constructive Dialogue Institute, and others.

Faith and Communal Leadership Tour: Maricopa County Elections Department
Election officials are a critical part of American democracy and a largely-untapped resource for community knowledge and engagement.The JCRC of Greater Phoenix is joining A More Perfect Union: The Jewish Partnership for Democracy to pilot a new initiative bringing Jewish communal leaders into greater relationship with these local officials and prepare faith leaders to be trusted sources of accurate, election-related information heading into what may be a tumultuous year, especially in Maricopa County.
